Problem Solved:

By sharing their negative customer experiences, residential service businesses contribute to a database that will raise potential risk awareness as other companies check their sales leads against Best-Choices.com early in the sales process.

Membership:

Membership is open to all bona fide small business home service providers. Small business service providers are generally defined as private companies performing services for homeowners such as maintenance, repair, cleaning, carpentry, remodeling, building, plumbing, HVAC, landscaping, swimming pool, roofing, windows, doors, contracting, housekeeping, flooring, or masonry, etc. Any form of business is welcome from sole proprietor to C-Corp, however, we must be able to verify the company’s existence.

Rules:

  1. No personal attacks or foul language directed at homeowners or by homeowners in their rebuttals. Stick with the facts of the transaction. 
  2. Just the facts from your perspective: Who? What? When? Why? How much? How long? Impact?
  3. Need Accurate Info – Homeowner(s) First Name, Middle Name, Last Name + All known Phone Numbers + Street Address, City State, Zip
  4. Homeowner names are bound with their phone numbers in searches for multiple current or previous address histories.
  5. Property homeowners only for now. Multi-family or apartment renters are currently unsupported by this system.

A Way For Small Businesses To Help Each Other By Reviewing Problem Customers.

Open to all bonafide home service providers but is focused on helping small businesses by warning about potentially problematic or unprofitable customers.

Nearly all small home service providers know that there are people who take advantage of small service businesses by unreasonably withholding payment for services rendered. The unscrupulous offenders use a variety of tactics to eventually wear down the small business owner. One example is “the perfectionist” who is a homeowner with impossible-to-please expectations. There are many different ways the unscrupulous homeowner can try to get something for little or nothing. A high percentage of these homeowners repeat this behavior habitually often knowing that nearly all small businesses are unable or unwilling to do anything about unfair non-payment or partial payment. For many bigger ticket small businesses, such as contractors, projects these customers are very costly if unprepared; with profit protecting advance payments, for example. 

Not A Tool For The Incompetent Small Business Owner

This service is not to be weaponized by the small business owner upset over a bad customer review posted online about their company or quality of work. This is categorically forbidden. We will watch for abuse and reserve the right to remove entries for any reason.

Process:

Once your application for membership has been accepted, you will have access to the system. The system operates on a point system. You build points by contributing to the system. You use points by checking on homeowners. You may perform a homeowner search when you have accumulated at least 1 point. The idea is to share your problematic customers and circumstances with other small business owners. In essence, it’s a friendly heads-up. Of course, any reported experience may turn out to be a one-time isolated circumstance.
